“A
few, the remaining few of Jacob, will return to the mighty God” (Isaiah
10:21). So few people make time for worshipping You, Lord. Are we to
become discouraged? No! We must take encouragement from Your Word: “The
Light of Israel will become a fire, their Holy One a flame” (Isaiah
10:17). Lord, give us grace to “truly rely on” You, “the Lord, the Holy
One of Israel” (Isaiah 10:20), to keep on believing that You will,
again, send Your blessing – even in the difficult times when
disappointment and discouragement threaten to engulf and overwhelm us.
You call us, Lord, to return to You. You promise to welcome us (2 Chronicles 30:9). Where does our returning come from? Where does our rejoicing come from? They both come from You. You put it into our hearts - to return to You (2 Chronicles 30:12). What joy there is for us when we return to You - "The good Lord pardons every one who sets his heart to seek God" (2 Chronicles 30:18-19).
